What is Real Life in River City?

Evansville, Indiana, has been my hometown for 27 years.  Almost everything is a 15 minute drive from home, and we have all kinds of choices of places to go and things to do. 

Evansville inspired the title of this blog.   We have an endless well of inspiring stories about real people in a river city.  I hope to share their stories as well as my own.

Business services I offer:

• Public speaking – talks on social media, computer strategies, parenting, education, social media for parents, and encouragement. Recent audiences include Ivy Tech, ITT, North High School, Vanderburgh 4-H Leaders, Tri-State Women, and Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
• Onsite software consulting - improve your spreadsheets, mail merges, PowerPoint, and more.  Does your company make best use of its software? Is it a tool or a pair of handcuffs? What tricks can decrease stress and improve quality while saving your company time and money? I live and breathe to empower people to use technology to better their lives. That’s more than the shift key capitalizes and an = sign begins a formula. It’s taking what people already know and showing them how to leverage computers to make their lives easier.

Who am I?

I love to build communities, talk to people, and find ways they can work together.  Social media has been a wonderful outlet for me to help people I know find new ways to work together.  People and companies who use social media as a tool to build and enhance real relationships will thrive in our communication revolution. 

As a strategist/trainer for DanaMNelson, I help them succeed with social media.

I have worked as a corporate computer trainer for Henderson Community College for the past 15 years, teaching industrial, corporate, and medical clients how to better use Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more. In 2005, they gave me the President’s Award for helping the local community.

For the past 10 years, my husband, Richard Biever, and I have run our own digital illustration/retouching business, the Copper Lion, Inc. 

We parent two teens, bleed green with 4-H, love our church, and have lots of adventures together.
